Working primarily as a systems analyst, designer and modeller, but also with experience of development and production, including software development (particularly prototyping and tooling support), Hugh brings the technical lead to the partnership.
Hugh is Modelling and Methodology facilitator for the Pharmacy Group of HL7 and is a recent past chair of the Technical Committee of HL7-UK and is a board member. Hugh has been a member of the NHS Information Standards Board
Before Blue Wave:
Hugh joined First Databank in 1989, initially as a programmer. He built the main software toolkits used by both GP and Community Pharmacy systems for selection and checking of drugs for prescribing and dispensing. He was responsible for system design and development throughout. He was promoted from Analyst/Programmer to Project Manger to Technical Director and finally to Managing Director, a post he held from 1998 to 2002.
